In your account, when creating and configuring a campaign, the following payment models are available to you depending on the selected advertising format.
CPС — Cost Per Click.
It is a payment model per click on advertising or affiliate links.

CPM (Cost Per Mille) – cost per 1000 impressions
Payments under this model are made only for impressions; clicks and transitions are not paid. The budget depends on the website attendance. The larger the audience, the more traffic you can get.

Smart CPM
Smart CPM – the ability to get the traffic volume at the best price.
How does it work?
The advertiser indicates the maximum bid he will pay for 1000 impressions. The system finds the bid of the nearest competitor and automatically raises the bid by 1%, thus winning the auction.
Example:
Advertiser A indicates a bid of $8.
Competitor B (in this source) makes a bid of $5.
Competitor C bets $4.80.
Competitor D bets $4.20.
Under these conditions, Advertiser A will win the auction and receive traffic for $5.05.
This option helps save the advertising campaign budget and facilitates optimization.

Which advertising model to choose?
The choice depends on the offer, advertising format, and campaign goal.
There is a noticeable difference between CPC and CPM, but each has its pros and cons.
Choose CPC if you aim to bring as many target users as possible to the website. It is easier to predict the budget, evaluate the effectiveness of creatives and pay for "warm" traffic with the CPC model. But at the same time, there is always a chance of click fraud.
CPM allows you to purchase traffic cheaper without paying for non-targeted actions; however, it is not the best choice for beginners. To save money, advertisers set daily limits. Choose CPM to get as many impressions as possible and increase brand awareness.
